About
Anna Queen (b.1990) is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture and video. She graduated in 2013 from Maryland Institute College of Art earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics. Anna has been a Resident Artist at the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation, Monson Arts, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Vermont Studio Center, and The Banff Centre. In 2015 she was a participant at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
She has had solo and two-person exhibitions at Postscript Gallery (U-Penn), Philadelphia, PA, Interloc Projects, Rockland, ME, New System Exhibitions, Portland, ME, and Firecat Projects, Chicago, IL. She has been included in recent group exhibitions at Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland, ME, Winter Street Gallery, Martha’s Vineyard, MA, Penn State Abington Gallery, Philadelphia, PA, Critical Distance, Toronto, ON, Knot Project Space, Ottawa, ON, and Skowhegan, New York, NY.
From 2019-2021 Queen was part of the collective, SISTERED, hosted in Portland, Maine. SISTERED is a multi-use project space, providing a platform for artists working across mediums to experiment with, show, and produce work at all stages of creation. She continues a curatorial practice alongside her studio work. Queen currently lives and works in Rockland, Maine.
